As the fastest growing cities in Texas, Princeton is a beautiful community next to Lavon Lake and with a bright future ahead.
The name “Princeton” was chosen in honor of a landowner and big proponent of the town, Prince Dowlin. There is an annual festival in town organized by members of the Princeton Independent School District and the Princeton Lions Club that takes place since 2005, called the Princeton Onion Festival, and hosts delicious food and even a 5k run.
Lake Lavon next to the town is a 22,000-acre reservoir formed by damming the east fork of the Trinity River. Along with its shoreline, there are four major parks near Princeton, making it a favorite destination for tourists and residents alike. There are also all types of recreational activities, from swimming to boating and fishing.
